A forest path, closed for bicyclists, extends along the left shore of the lake and leads to an interesting educational path and over several small bridges – wonderful views over the peaceful and beautiful Toblacher See are guaranteed.
Of course, it’s also possible to extend your run towards Toblach.
Particularly famous is the route from Cortina to Toblach, also known as the Dolomitenlauf race, but it’s only suitable for top athletes and sportsmen. The route along the abandoned railway track is 30 km long and was discovered in 1988 by the Italian marathon runner Gianni Poli during the phase of preparation for the Boston marathon. Nowadays over 4000 international athletes participate in this major sporting event.
